US National Team

DaMarcus Beasley made an immediate impact in 1999, earning the Silver Ball Award at the U-17 World Cup. His remarkable talents quickly earned him a spot on the Senior U.S. National Team, where he made 126 appearances and scored 17 goals over his career. To this day, Beasley stands as the only American player to compete in four World Cups (2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014), solidifying his legacy as one of the most accomplished players in U.S. soccer history.

Chicago Fire

Beasley made an immediate impact upon joining the Chicago Fire, quickly establishing himself in the first team and playing a crucial role in the season’s success. He helped the Men in Red secure their second-ever U.S. Open Cup title, contributing three assists during the tournament. His performance only grew stronger in the years that followed, earning him a spot in the 2003 MLS All-Star XI after an impressive season in which he scored seven goals and provided five assists. That year, Beasley helped lead the Fire to another U.S. Open Cup title and lifted the Supporters Shield. Over his time in Chicago, Beasley’s contributions were substantial, tallying fourteen goals and twenty assists.

PSV Eindhoven

Beasley made an immediate and lasting impact in his first season at PSV Eindhoven. In his debut campaign in the Eredivisie, he scored six goals and provided seven assists, playing a key role in securing the Dutch Championship for the team. The following season, as reigning champions, PSV embarked on a remarkable journey to the UEFA Champions League semifinals, with Beasley becoming the first U.S. player to reach that stage of the prestigious tournament. His time in Eindhoven proved transformative, contributing sixteen goals and fifteen assists throughout his tenure. Eventually, Beasley was loaned to Manchester City for the remainder of his contract, marking a new chapter in his extraordinary career.

Manchester City

The 500-mile journey from the Netherlands to England was an exciting new chapter for DaMarcus Beasley. Upon joining Manchester City, he was given the #24 shirt and primarily played as a left-midfielder. During his brief spell in the Premier League, Beasley had the opportunity to compete alongside some of the world's top players, including Steven Gerrard, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Thierry Henry. In his one-year loan at City, he made a valuable contribution, scoring four goals and providing one assist. After his time in Manchester, Beasley headed north for the next phase of his career.

Glasgow Rangers

Beasley soon crossed the North Sea to join Glasgow Rangers, stepping into one of the fiercest and most historic rivalries in football—the ‘Old Firm’ clash. Deeply woven into the fabric of Scottish culture, this rivalry would prove to be a defining chapter in Beasley’s career, shaping his experiences both on and off the field. His impact at Rangers was immediate, with standout Man of the Match performances, including a memorable Champions League encounter against French side Lyon. In that dominant 3-0 victory, Beasley not only scored a goal but also provided an assist. His time at Rangers ultimately concluded with six goals and twelve assists, cementing his legacy at the club.

Hannover 96

Beasley’s professional journey then led him to Hanover, Germany, where he signed with Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga, eager to embrace a new challenge. His prior encounter with the club in a friendly match during his time at Rangers made the region somewhat familiar. Driven by the desire for more consistent playing time, Beasley made the bold decision to shorten his two-year contract to just one. This marked a pivotal moment before his next move—one that would bring him closer to home.

Puebla FC

Beasley’s next chapter took him to southern Mexico, where he signed with "Los Camoteros," better known as Puebla FC. For Beasley, this move represented a new challenge, a chance for a fresh start in the Liga MX.

In Puebla, Beasley quickly adapted, establishing himself as a regular starter and proving his worth on the field. Over three impactful years, he made 99 appearances, a testament to his consistency and influence. He wasn’t just a defender—he scored thirteen goals and provided twelve assists, making significant contributions in both ends of the pitch. His time at Puebla became a defining period in his career, a place where his legacy continued to grow, leaving a lasting impression on the club and its fans.

Houston Dynamo

Beasley’s return to Major League Soccer marked a new chapter in his career, this time with Houston Dynamo. His debut in 2014 came against D.C. United, a 1-0 victory that set the tone for his time in Houston. But as the season progressed, injury struck, challenging Beasley in ways he hadn’t expected. Yet, despite the setbacks, his resilience never faltered.

At Dynamo, Beasley quickly became a key figure, making 137 appearances and continuing to prove his worth, primarily as a left-back. Even in this defensive role, he managed to score five goals and notch seven assists, demonstrating his all-around contribution to the team.

In 2019, after years of dedication, Beasley made the decision to retire from the game. His final match was a 4-2 victory over LA Galaxy, a fitting end to his career. As he was subbed off in the 89th minute, the crowd rose to their feet in a standing ovation—a powerful tribute to the man who had given so much to the game.

Though Beasley moved on from the field, his connection to Houston remained unbroken. For him, the club was more than just a team—it was home.
